To commemorate this historic discovery, the Global Down Syndrome Foundation has organized the Be Beautiful Be Yourself Jet Set Fashion Show, a fundraiser featuring honoree Music Icon Quincy Jones, singer-songwriter Josh Kelley and a fashion show including guest models with Down syndrome.

Louise Bennett Reed, who passed away at age 103 last June, gave gifts totaling more than $4.75 million for University of Colorado at Boulder athletic scholarships, making her the largest individual donor to the CU-Boulder Athletics department.
