Unprecedented Support from The Anschutz Foundation Leads to Naming of Anschutz Medical Campus
The Anschutz Foundation has enabled the transformation of the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center into a regional powerhouse of medical education, clinical care, and research.
With a vision to create one of the premier medical campuses in the nation, the foundation has stepped forward at several critical junctions to advance the campus master plan and serve as a catalyst for infrastructure development.
The Anschutz family’s imprint is prominent across campus. Capital construction support from The Anschutz Foundation was instrumental to completion of a number of vital campus facilities, the Anschutz Centers for Advanced Medicine that houses the Inpatient and Outpatient Pavilions; the Anschutz Cancer Pavilion; and the Center for Dependency, Addiction, and Rehabilitation.
In recognition of a series of gifts surpassing $91 million, the campus in Aurora is known as the Anschutz Medical Campus. Home to many “firsts”—including the first liver transplant, the study and development of a vaccine to prevent shingles, and identification of the first gene that carries a risk for schizophrenia—the Anschutz Medical Campus is poised to continue on a path of excellence and innovation.
Thanks to the unprecedented support from The Anschutz Foundation, the advancement of health sciences education, research, and healthcare will benefit Coloradans and the global community for generations to come.
