As the state’s first and only school of public health nears its one-year anniversary, The Colorado Health Foundation is showing its ongoing support of this emerging regional public health leader. The Foundation is giving the Colorado School of Public Health more than $2 million to expand programs and recruit top faculty.

Scientists at the University of Colorado at Boulder may get a step closer to identifying all proteins present in a single cell type, thanks to a $1.2 million grant from the W.M. Keck Foundation. The grant could better enable researchers to understand the complex changes within a cell that are triggered by disease, food or other means — which could accelerate the development of targeted therapies for cancer, heart disease and other diseases.

The arm of public health in Colorado now is able to improve its reach in our state thanks to a generous grant from Kaiser Permanente Colorado. The state’s largest nonprofit health plan has given $600,000 to the Colorado School of Public Health to support the development of The Center for Public Health Practice (CPHP).
